The New World's Walled City

What's a Trippy?

It's a short visual trip to places of architectural or design importance.

Where are we going?

To Vieux Quebec (Old Quebec), Canada, which is divided into the Haute-Ville and Basse-Ville, or upper and lower cities.

What's to see?

The lower city is filled with warehouses and the necessities of trade on the bustling St. Lawrence River. The upper city features homes built on the heights, originally designed so that the original French settlers could be protected from the British. The streets are cobble-stoned, the stone houses are slate-roofed, most everyone speaks French, and the baguettes are fresh and heaven-sent. Visit North America's only walled city, and you'll leave feeling like you've seen a piece of old France.
