DIY Time

Jay Johnson - There are many reasons for tackling a DIY (Do It Yourself) project in your home. The most popular is to save money so you don’t have to pay a professional. As IWI is a professional home design firm, we know that the DIY market isn’t our competition. Homeowners will professionally decorate because they have a decorating budget, they want attentive service, they demand custom, they try to get everything as perfect as possible, and they want a Mercedes or BMW result versus a Ford or Chevrolet.

I’ve been DIY-ing it for years, however, and I enjoy the odd project. DIYers like to use up spare time with enjoyable activities around the house that can be done in a few hours or days. If the projects extend for weeks, you might want to hire a professional, but smaller tasks are ideal to tackle yourself - and if you want to commit to long-term projects without outside help, go knock yourself out! Have fun. You even might develop a wonderful new hobby with your acquired skills.
