IWI Video House Tour

Jay Johnson - Irwin and the Irwin Weiner Interiors team put a lot of thought and love into this estate in Bucks County, half a mile from the scenic Delaware River. This was, after all, Irwin’s weekend home, and there was a lot of creativity and attention to detail to turn this once-ramshackle place into a charming spot. Imagine contractors touring the property over 7 years ago, coming away shaking their heads. Given up as a hopeless wreck, the place had morphed over the years into a chopped-up warren of apartments for five families. The basement was dark and frightening, there were tiny kitchenettes and showers squeezed into every conceivable space, and the 12-acre grounds were overrun with 50 years of weeds, junk trees, and neglect. It was an eyesore in an otherwise upscale neighborhood.

Irwin turned the original front entrance into a back door and relocated the front door to where it is today. All the apartments were connected into a single family home that flowed smoothly. The decor was made “rural comfy” and spaces were filled with warm elements like throws, needlepoint pillows, area rugs, and furnishings and art collected from area antique stores, galleries, and auction houses. When Sotheby’s listed the property in 2020, they called it “whimsical” and “serene.” Our featured video below shows the Sotheby’s promotion of this property, named Holmquist Farm. Enjoy the tour.
