Design Video: Modern Villa with Ocean Views

Irwin Weiner ASID - I grew up right on the ocean in Cape Town, South Africa, so I truly understand anyone's desire to live by the sea. Living close to the ocean satisfies three senses: sight, sound, and smell. There's nothing else like it. I think that's why I enjoy working on ocean-front properties in the Hampton's so much. It brings me home again.

In today's Movimox video, we see a lovely vacation home on the French Riviera, and it has some of what I most like in an ocean-facing property: lots of expanses of clean glass to view the limitless horizon and bring that wall of constantly-moving water closer to you, a pool so that your tamed recreational water space can seemingly float into the vast expanse of the sea, minimal furnishings (all one needs are seating arrangements for entertaining, dining, and sleeping), and a monochromatic color palette which won't compete with the strong blues and greens of sky and ocean (note all the white and natural brown in this home's decor). Enjoy.
