We're Bond & Bowery, a website with the most diverse selection of antiques, design, and fine art in cyberspace. We highlight quality pieces without the clutter of competing ads and excessive editorial content. B & B understands the importance of a valuable acquisition and its contribution to home decoration.
Your B & B Host: I'm George Evans, and I've spent the last 20 years importing and exporting antiques and fine design pieces from Europe. I'm a New York City dealer and I have two showrooms in Lambertville, New Jersey.
This week we're bringing you an Milo Baughman Sofa from c2 Interiors & Design, located at 11740 San Vicente Boulevard, Suite 106, in sunny Los Angeles. This sofa's incredible rosewood frame hugs the new blue silk velvet upholstery that is so International Style in its squared-off chic late-1950s, early 1960s style (although this piece was manufactured in the 1970s).
The International Style made typical Mid-Century Modern furniture more boxy, and this Baughman sofa is the epitome of boxy beauty with its elegant rosewood frame, almost suspended on stainless steel legs. Use it with a mix of furniture from the 1950s through 1970s, along with other contemporary pieces as designer Laura Hunt did so masterfully in the living room of this Dallas apartment.
We think our sofa would look beautiful in your home, too.
For a more in-depth discussion about this sofa, see my By George! interview with Design2Share. And visit Bond & Bowery for the item detail page on this beautiful Milo Baughman creation.
